Song Editor

The song editor opens when you create a new song or tap Edit. It has a top bar, a chord bar, and the lyric/chord editing area.

Song Details

  • Title — tap to edit inline
  • Artist — tap to edit inline
  • Tag — choose Worship, Hymn, or Contemporary
  • Keys ▾ button — opens the key panel (see below)

Editor Modes

Two editing modes, toggled by the tab at the top of the editor:

Chords over Lyrics

Traditional format — chord names appear on the line above the lyric they fall on. Easier to type manually from a printed sheet.

ChordPro

Inline format using [Chord] notation directly in the lyric text. e.g. [G]Amazing [D]grace. Better for imports and portability.

💡 Tip: You can switch between modes at any time — Corded converts the format automatically.

Keys Panel

Tap the ♪ key ▾ button in the top bar to open the keys panel. It has two rows:

  • Master Key (red) — the fundamental key of the song. Changing this updates the key metadata without transposing the notes. Use m to mark as minor.
  • Transpose To (green) — the key the song displays in. Changing this transposes all chords live. Minor is inherited from the master key automatically.

Tap outside the panel to close it. The panel stays open while you select notes so you can change key and see the chords update in real time.

Chord Bar

The chord bar shows the chords used in the song for quick insertion. Tap any chord to insert it at the cursor position. Recent chords appear first.

Undo and Redo

The and buttons in the top bar undo and redo changes. Each keystroke is captured.

Saving

Tap Save or the Back button. Tapping outside the editor overlay also saves automatically.

03

Song View — Performance Mode

Tap any song to open it in song view — a full-screen chord chart optimised for reading during worship.

Reading the Chart

  • Chord names appear above lyrics in green
  • Section labels (Verse, Chorus etc.) appear dimmed in uppercase
  • Tap any chord to see its notes in a popup. Tap the popup again to see related chords in the song key.
  • Capo badge — if a capo is set, it appears as a badge next to the song title

Navigation

  • Swipe left/right to move between songs in a setlist
  • Swipe indicators show ← prev and next → when in a setlist
  • Tap ← Back to return to the library
  • Pinch to zoom on the lyrics to adjust font size (saved per song)

Transpose To

Shows the current key as a button. Tap it to open the key grid and select a new key. ♭ −1 and ♯ +1 step by semitone. All chords update live.

💡 Tip: Transpose is non-destructive — the master key is preserved. The song always remembers both the original key and the display key separately.

Capo

Set the capo fret. Chord shapes adjust to what you actually play with the capo. The key hint below shows the sounding key.

Auto Scroll

The scroll controls appear at the bottom right when the song content is longer than the screen. Tap to start scrolling. adjust speed on the fly.

Note: The scroll controls hide automatically when all the song content fits on screen. They reappear for longer songs.

  • Chord Notes — enables the chord popup when tapping chords
  • Scroll Speed — default speed for auto-scroll

Team Sync

Team Sync lets a worship leader share their full song library and setlists with all team members in real time. Each team has a memorable code like GRACE-RIVER-492 that members use to join.

Creating a Team — Leader

1
Open menu → Team → Create Team
2
Choose a leader password (minimum 4 characters). This is your private key to reconnect from any device.
3
Your team code is generated — share it with your team via WhatsApp, email, or message.
4
All your existing songs are automatically marked as team songs.
💡 Tip: Screenshot your team code and remember your password. You need both to reconnect as leader if you clear your browser data.

Joining a Team — Member

1
Open menu → Team → Join Team
2
Enter the team code from your leader
3
Tap Join — the team library syncs immediately

How Syncing Works

  • Leader changes push automatically 5 seconds after any song edit — no action needed
  • Members tap Sync Team Library in the menu to pull the latest
  • If the leader has pushed new changes while your app is open, a red ● Update button appears in the top bar — tap it to sync immediately
  • Members are checked for updates every 30 seconds automatically

Team vs Private Songs — Leader

  • Tap and hold a song → Add to Team — marks it for team sync
  • Tap and hold a team song → Make Private — removes it from sync
  • New songs are automatically marked as team songs while you are a leader

Requesting Songs — Member

  • Tap and hold a private song → Request to add to team
  • The leader sees a badge on the Review Requests button
  • Leader approves or rejects each request
  • Approved songs appear in everyone's library immediately

Personal Settings — Member

Each musician can set their own key and capo independently. Useful when a guitarist uses capo 2 while a pianist needs the root key.

In ⚙ Settings when viewing a team song as a member

Team Key — the leader's setting (read only)
My Key — your personal transpose on top of the team key
My Capo — your personal capo fret
Reset to Team — reverts to the leader's settings

Personal settings are saved per song on your device only — they never sync to the team.

Reconnecting as Leader

If you lose your leader access (cleared browser data, new device), go to → Team → Reconnect as Leader. Enter your team code and leader password to restore full access.

  • Right panel — current setlist
  • Both panels always visible — no swiping

  • Keep the library and setlist visible in the main window
  • Move, resize, or drag the popup to a second monitor
  • Open multiple songs in separate windows simultaneously

Column Picker

In the song popup, buttons 1 2 3 appear in the header. Tap to set how many columns the lyrics display in.
